    Romantica is a charming wicker chair in Danish design and part of Sika-Designs Originals collection. The Originals collection represents designs of wicker furniture, all of which are designed by Sika-Design. The unique and detailed windings give the chair a romantic look and make it a cozy element in the home. Romantica is suitable for the ordinary home, conservatory and cottage as well as for hotels and indoor restaurants.

    The chair is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. The chair's seat and backrest are handwoven on a rattan frame by skilled wicker makers. Indonesian rattan is one of the world's most sustainable materials for making furniture. Rattan is a remarkably strong and extremely durable natural material which means that our furniture can last for generations.

    Originals | Rattan

    This furniture is handcrafted in rattan, which is one of the most sustainable materials available for furniture manufacturing. Rattan is often confused with bamboo, but unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is a solid material.  This makes rattan furniture very durable, and able to last for generations.

    When steamed for 10-15 minutes, rattan can be formed by hand using old traditional manufacturing techniques and a few simple tools. Rattan comes in 600 different variants and at Sika-Design we only use the two best qualities called Tohiti and Manau. Read more about rattan here.

    MAINTENANCE Rattan requires no maintenance but can be wiped with a lightly dampened cloth if needed. Find more information about care and maintenance here.

    Our cushions

    Our cushions are developed in our Danish sewing studio to add extra comfort and fit perfectly into each piece of furniture. For our indoor cushions, we use high-quality foam that keeps its shape and ensures optimal comfort. These are presented in a selection of high-quality fabrics with a wear resistance of minimum 20.000 Martindale. Please notice: Cushions that are made to order cannot be returned.
