Sika-Design is proud to present our new St Catherine teak bench designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1935.
The bench was designed for wholesaler Helge Wandel's villa, and when Arne Jacobsen in the late 1950s got his first major project abroad, designing St Catherine College in Oxford, the teak bench was included in the plan for the associated college park.
Our new outdoor color ‘Alu-Antique’ is hand-painted by skilled craftsmen inspired by the structure of natural rattan. This is a craft that requires great time and precision, and where is takes approximately 5 hours to paint a single lounge chair.
The furniture is handmade in aluminum and ArtFibre, and can be left outdoor all year round.
At Sika-Design we have a large selection of charming bistro furniture inspired by the colorful
bistro chairs seen all over Paris.
With the charming café furniture, you can bring the French café atmosphere home on the terrace or in the garden, without worrying about maintenance.
All our outdoor wicker furniture is handmade from aluminum and woven with ArtFibre, which can withstand standing outside all year round.
Arne Jacobsen, Nanna & Jørgen Ditzel, R. Wengler, Franco Albini & Franca Helg, Viggo Boesen and Tove Kindt-Larsen were all pioneers of their time. They broke new ground when they made experimental shapes of the sturdy material rattan and wicker, creating sculptural and timeless icons.
These exclusive design pieces, originally designed in rattan, are made of aluminum and ArtFibre for outdoor use. Our garden furniture is all handmade and woven in weather-resistant materials that can be left outside all year round and require minimal maintenance.
Our Georgia Garden collection is inspired by the British colonial style, and the designs are based on old drawings found in books and postcards. The collection is classic, cozy, romantic and fits perfectly with a garden as backdrop.
Our outdoor wicker furniture is all handmade in aluminum and woven with great expertise in ArtFibre, which can withstand standing outside all year round.

Since 1942, the natural material rattan has been the cornerstone of Sika-Design. Our mission is to produce furniture from materials that have the least possible impact on the environment, and that our customers can, and want to keep, for many years. Sustainability is therefore woven into our DNA, and green transitioning has become a fixed focal point at Sika-Design.
Consideration for the environment affects which items are put into production, our choice of materials, how they are processed, and how the furniture is packaged and transported.
Sika-Design is a Danish family company from 1942. With a passion for rattan, we manufacture timeless furniture in both our own designs and in designs by some of the world’s greatest architects.
Rattan is often confused with bamboo, but unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is a solid material. This makes rattan highly bendable and can therefore be transformed into the most amazing shapes.
The fact that rattan is a solid material makes rattan furniture very durable and able to
last for generations.

With great respect and admiration for the original designs and in close collaboration with the descendants, we are at Sika-Design proud to have acquired the rights for these iconic designs.
