    The Bistro Exterior bench was designed by Franco Albini and Franca Helg in the 1950s. The bench is elegant and rich in detail. The curved details under the seat which smoothly turns into an armrest subtly reveal that there are skilled architects behind the design.

    The Bistro bench is designed with beautiful, curved armrests that provide good comfort and extra support. The bench is designed for brasseries, cafes and restaurants, but it is also suitable for the ordinary home. The Bistro Exterior bench is handcrafted in aluminum and ArtFibre making it resistant to all weather types.

    The bench is part of Sika-Designs Alu Affäire-collection which represents a unique selection of charming outdoor bistro- and café furniture.

    Franco Albini & Franca Helg

    This furniture is designed by Franco Albini & Franca Helg. Franco Albini (1905-1977) was an Italian architect and designer, famous for his ability to merge modern minimalistic furniture design with traditional Italian craftmanship. Through his work he obtained three Compasso D’Oro awards, the most prestigious Italian design prize.

    From 1951 Franco Albini becomes business partners with Franca Helg (1920-1989), and from this point Franca plays a crucial role in numerous of Franco Albini’s designs.

    Alu Affäire | Alu-Rattan & ArtFibre

    The furniture in our Alu Affäire collection is handcrafted in Alu-Rattan and Sika-Design ArtFibre®. Alu-Rattan is powder-coated aluminum that has been developed to resemble rattan and its unique shaping ability. Powder coating has the advantage that it can withstand hard wear and high temperatures.

    ArtFibre® is a unique fiber made of dyed hard-wearing polyethylene that is temperature and UV resistant. The fiber has a strong structure that can maintain its shape for years on end.

    MAINTENANCE Our Alu Affäire furniture requires no maintenance. The furniture is suitable for standing outdoor all year round, and is easy to clean. For cleaning, use water mixed with mild soap. Find more information about care and maintenance here.

    Our cushions

    Our cushions are developed in our Danish sewing studio to add extra comfort and fit perfectly into each piece of furniture. For our indoor cushions, we use high-quality foam that keeps its shape and ensures optimal comfort. These are presented in a selection of high-quality fabrics with a wear resistance of minimum 20.000 Martindale. Please notice: Cushions that are made to order cannot be returned.
