The Italian duo, Franco Albini and Franca Helg, were renowned architects and had their heyday in the 1950s, producing a wide range of renowned furniture designs as well as architectural works and properties. The aesthetics are clearly seen in the elegant bistro chair, originally designed in the 1950s.

The chair is handcrafted in Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. We weave our Affäire furniture with the fantastic ArtFibre which is artificial fibers made from maintenance-free polyethylene that can withstand the sun's UV radiation. The combination of rattan and ArtFibre gives the wicker furniture a unique strength, flexibility and comfort.

Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material, and therefore a unique piece of furniture is available that lasts for generations.

The bistro chair is designed with beautiful, curved armrests that provide good comfort and extra support. The chair is a refined dining chair which is designed for brasseries, cafes and restaurants, but it is also suitable for the ordinary home. The furniture is made for indoor use but can also be used on the covered terrace and parasol outdoors. Here, however, it is important that the furniture has the opportunity to become completely dry if it is exposed to moisture.
